Ooh yeah.. We will have an old traditional day off. Sjaak, Jurr and I will spent this in the best of traditions. We use to celebrate this yearly event in Amsterdam, but for the past few years Sjaak and Jurr spent it on another location. I must admit, Amsterdam is overcrowded and to many people are hanging around in the same spots. But I have fond memories of Queensdays: Usually a bleak sun shines and with all those crazy Dutch around, one could feel the start of new summer dawning. You can drink a beer outside, not indoors anymore, and there are people performing all around you.. Yes it is a good precelebrattion of the summer yet to come..

Yes, I've mentioned earlier the fact i've been training for this great race. I've finished it in experation, but alive... I've finished 7.5 km in 37.04.00. Not much you might think, but for me (being a featherweight) it's quitte acceptable.
This is also a nice picture: shows technique. But i must tell you half way, you don't care about technique, you just stagger along, splashing the oars and pull like crazy, with your lungs bursting out. And than all of a sudden: there' s the finish..

The weather was also fine, a bit of sun and not too much wind. last year we had horrific weather with gusts of wind and low temp's.
